The relevant data protection regulations grant data subjects comprehensive rights of control and defense with regard to their personal data by bindingly regulating the conditions under which companies may collect, process, store and transmit such data. When using Lightspeed, you are obliged to strictly comply with all data protection regulations applicable to your business operations - in particular the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and any supplementary national regulations - in order to ensure the legal conformity of your data processing.
Detailed information on Lightspeed's security and data protection measures can be found in the Trust Center, which bundles all relevant resources.
PCI compliance refers to the legally binding fulfillment of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) in its currently valid version, issued by the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC). The PCI DSS requires all companies that process, store or transmit cardholder or transaction data (merchants or service providers) to establish appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the confidentiality and integrity of cardholder data and to minimize the risk of data breaches and fraud-related losses.
To ensure PCI compliance, protective measures (including firewall and encryption concepts, access and authentication procedures), regular assessments (e.g. self-assessment questionnaire, external penetration tests, audits by qualified security assessors) and documented evidence and reports to acquirers or card organizations must be implemented and submitted on time.
Consistent compliance with this standard ensures demonstrably high data security for cardholders and at the same time strengthens customer confidence in payment processing.
